Russian Sub launched Missile Test Fails

Russian news source RIA Novosti is reporting that for a second time a test launch of Russia’s new experimental Bulava Ballistic Missile has failed. This test comes following the test on September 7th that also failed. In 2005 there where two successful tests of the missile.
The Bulva missile scheduled be finished testing and fully deployed to the Russian armed services by 2007 and testing of the new missile was to end this year. But with these failed tests, testing of the new missile may continue into next year or until its flaw are worked out and the missile is ready for deployment.

North Korea Tests Nuclear Bomb

Today the government of North Korea announced that they had successfully tested an atomic bomb in an underground mountain test site. The test occurred at 10:35 p.m. EDT, The U.S. Geological Survey stated it did detect a 4.2-magnitude tremor at 10:35 p.m. confirming that a test had taken place.

The North Korean test comes after a week of pressure from the international community not to conduct a test. Following the test world leaders including Japan, South Korea, China, and Australia condemned the test. North Korea’s test of their bomb has increased support for the matter to be referred to the United Nations Security Council.

South Korea has cut shipments of aid to North Korea in response to the test, South Koreas Intelligence agencies have announced they have spotted activity at another test site and another test could be conducted soon. Japan has dispatched planes to monitor radiation levels from North Korea tests and have announced they will be stepping up development of missile defense systems and cooperation with the United States of development of missile defense.
